Gapline: FY27 sales capacity plans from your CRM
Gapline

Check your FY27 number before you hire for it.

Know whether the target is achievable before you commit the spend. Gapline rebuilds your plan from your CRM with real hire dates, ramp, attrition and attainment, then gives you the plan to run: who to hire and when, what it costs, and the pipeline it takes.

Two minutes, no signup, and no CRM data needed for the free report.

Your plan, the way most teams build itChange the blue numbers

Example assumptions until you add yours: a 6-month ramp (Bridge Group's 2026 average is 6.2), 70% attainment for ramped AEs, 20% annual attrition, hires spread across the first half.

Patrick Franciotti

Built and reviewed by Patrick Franciotti. Ten years in revenue operations; built the RevOps function at Ontra from one person to twelve and presented capacity, NRR and forecast to the board every quarter. Software does the modeling. I check every plan before it reaches you.

I take five plans a month, so each one gets a real review. Most FY27 plans go to the board in November and December. Plans booked by Dec 1 are delivered before most board meetings.

Headcount times quota is a promise, not a capacity.

Four things sit between the number in your plan and the number your team books. The free report puts a dollar figure on each one using your estimates. The paid plan replaces the estimates with your CRM history, rep by rep.

Hire dates

An AE who starts in May sells for eight months of the year, not twelve. A plan built on headcount counts the whole year.

8 of 12months of selling for a May start

Ramp

A new AE takes months to sell like a ramped one, and most plans count them at full quota from day one.

Attrition

Every departure leaves an empty seat while you backfill, then a new ramp on top of it.

Attainment

Ramped AEs close a share of quota, not all of it. A plan that assumes full attainment is short before anyone misses.

What arrives in five business days.

A private plan page, an Excel model with every formula, a PDF, and a short summary deck for your leadership team. These figures come from the sample plan for a fictional company built on synthetic data.

Fig. 2. Scenarios, fully costed. Each option carries the hires, SDRs and managers its own pipeline needs, so they compare on one basis.

Eight questions about your target, team and hiring. See the gap, what drives it, and the pipeline it takes.

Day 1

Scope it, then send a CRM export

An optional 15-minute scope check on the decision you're making, a fixed price, then deals, companies and your AE list from HubSpot or Salesforce. Company-level fields only. How we handle data.

Day 5

Get your plan

The plan page, the Excel model, the PDF and a summary deck, a readout call if you want one, and one round of revisions.

Built for teams with 3 to 40 AEs.

Too early for a planning platform, too important to leave in a spreadsheet.

Founder-led

3 to 5 AEs; the CEO owns the number

You just raised and need a hiring plan you can run. Get one that shows when each hire pays back and when you need your first sales manager.

Scaling

6 to 20 AEs; a VP Sales owns the plan

You inherited a number. Get a second opinion that makes it defensible, or the evidence to reset it before the year starts.

Solo RevOps

21 to 40 AEs; one operator models it

Skip two weeks of spreadsheet work. Get a finished first pass to review, own and present.

One price, agreed up front.

Priced by team size. Every plan includes three months of Plan Pulse.

Priced against one hire.

A fully loaded AE typically costs $150k to $250k a year. If the plan stops one hire you don't need, or times one you do, it has paid for itself many times over.

On time and ready to run, or you don't pay.

Delivered within five business days of receiving complete data, with every assumption documented and one round of revisions. If it's late, or you tell us within 14 days of delivery that it isn't ready to run your year on, you get a full refund within 10 business days. A plan that confirms yours is sound counts as a good outcome.

Questions

Why not ask an AI tool for a capacity model?

You can, and it's worth trying. We tested it: given our sample company's CRM export, Claude found the same ramp and attainment problems we did. Where it broke was the decision. It recommended hiring 6 AEs, 4 of them starting in January, while its own numbers said the pipeline couldn't feed them. The model is the easy part. Gapline caps the plan at what your pipeline and hiring calendar can deliver, puts every option on the same cost per dollar booked, and a person who has run this signs off on it and can run it with you. See the side-by-side.

What if our plan is already sound?

Then you get a documented second opinion, with every assumption written down, and an operating cadence to keep it on track. That counts as a good outcome under the guarantee.

What data do you need?

A deals export, a companies export and your AE list with start dates and quotas. Company-level fields only, never contacts. You can replace names with aliases. Files are deleted 90 days after delivery. Full details.

Can we talk first?

Yes. Book a 15-minute scope check: what decision you're making, when, and what data you have. Send your CRM export beforehand and I'll bring one finding from your own data, free. You get a fixed price the same day. After that, everything can run by email if you prefer.

Do you handle usage-based revenue?

Yes. The Operating Plan separates subscription and usage bookings and accounts for usage commits in the pipeline math.

Which CRMs do you support?

HubSpot and Salesforce, and any CRM that exports deals and companies to CSV.
